We all deserve the security of knowing that we can stay in our homes at the end of each lease. Melissa will push for policy that ensures stable and reasonable rent increases, providing tenants with the security they deserve.
Ending Street Homelessness
Seeing folks sleeping on the streets means our current policies are failing. Melissa will advocate for real, compassionate solutions to help the unhoused.
Safer Streets
As walkers, runners, cyclists—however we use our streets—we need to know our communities are safe and livable. Melissa wants to work to improve safety so our friends, kids and neighbors can enjoy all that our district has to offer.
Fix NYCHA
It’s unacceptable the condition that our neighbors in public housing are forced to tolerate. Melissa will fight for repairs, upgrades, and transparency because every resident deserves a decent home.
Combatting Hate and Bias
Melissa is deeply committed to dismantling the pervasive systems of oppression that fuel antisemitism and hate crimes. Her campaign is founded on principles of equity, justice, and solidarity with marginalized communities. To combat the alarming rise of hate-based violence, she is dedicated to implementing a progressive agenda that addresses the root causes of bigotry while uplifting voices that have historically been silenced.
Fighting to Protect Women’s Reproductive Rights
As a staunch advocate for women's rights and bodily autonomy, Melissa is deeply committed to protecting and advancing reproductive rights in New York, especially in the wake of the repeal of Roe v. Wade. Her platform is centered on ensuring that all individuals have access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare, including abortion services, regardless of their socioeconomic status or geographic location.
Supporting our Seniors
As our community ages in place, Melissa believes in services that help seniors thrive and feel connected to our neighbors. She believes it is imperative that we build more senior housing to meet the huge need that will only continue to grow in our district.
